WPA-TPS and Runajambi (Institute for the Study of Quichua Culture and Health) are pleased to announce the publication of a unique book. It is titled “Psychiatrists and Traditional Healers: Unwitting Partners in Global Mental Health”, published by John Wiley & Sons.

This book is the result of a fruitful collaboration between WPA-TPS and Runajambi (Otavalo, Ecuador). It includes the contributions of 20 international scholars. The book has evolved from the international conference on “Psychiatrists and Healers: Unwitting Partners – A Challenge for Transcultural Psychiatry in Times of Globalization,” held in Quito, Ecuador in May, 2005. The conference was organized by Mario Incayawar, M.D., Director of Runajambi, and was jointly sponsored by WPA-TPS and Runajambi.
